cover reveal, Guardians of Erin, Ireland, Judith Sterling, release date, The Spear Alight, YA paranormal fantasy, young adult series

Here it is: the cover of my upcoming release! The Spear Alight is the fourth and final book in my award-winning Guardians of Erin young adult paranormal fantasy series. It’s set to release on March 7, 2022. Here’s the scoop on the story:

Ashling Donoghue has almost lost hope of finding her missing parents. As her faith wanes, her love for two men waxes, rending her heart and causing friction in the Breasal household. The time has come to make a choice, to create a future untarnished by doubt. But how can she embrace the light when lured by the soft seduction of shadow?

At last, her brother Conall channels the Spear of Illumination. He’s a natural shapeshifter, and he sees through illusions in both the material world and the Otherworld…not a moment too soon. An ancient evil has surfaced, and it threatens all worlds.

Only the Donoghues can save Ireland. They must face their greatest fears and act as one to fulfill their destinies as guardians of Erin.

While preparing for March 7th, I’m also starting the first book of my new gothic mystery series. Believe it or not, I’ve had a detailed outline ready and waiting for almost 7 years. But I was so busy writing The Novels of Ravenwood and the Guardians of Erin series, there wasn’t time. Now there is! I’ll keep you posted.

Thanks again for your interest in my work. Wishing you a beautiful week ahead! 🙂

A Pride of Brothers: Aiden, A Pride of Brothers: Rick, award-nominated, contemporary romance, cover reveal, Peggy Jaeger, romance series, The Wild Rose Press

Behold the cover of Peggy Jaeger’s upcoming release, A Pride of Brothers: Aiden! It’s the second book in the series; the first, whose hero is Rick, is nominated for a RONE award. (Best of luck, Peg!)

Here’s the scoop on Aiden’s story:

Lexi Buckley wants answers about her younger sister’s death. The police have labeled it a suicide, but Lexi doesn’t believe it. Stymied in her investigation, she doesn’t know where to turn next. After a chance encounter with a private investigator, she thinks her prayers have been answered.

Aiden Keane has never been an answer to a prayer before, but he agrees to help Lexi. A quirky combo of brains and beauty, the pixie blonde makes him feel things no professional ever should for a client. When their investigation puts Lexi’s life in jeopardy, her safety becomes his number one priority. The hard part is not falling for her.

A peek between the pages:

Were you close with your sister?” Aiden asked.

Not the way we should have been. Not at the end.

“We had a sizable age difference between us. Almost ten years. I was the big sis. The oldest.” Her lips trembled when she pulled them into a sad line. Rolling her eyes she added, “The bossy one, according to her. She was the baby and took full advantage of her status from the moment she realized it.”

“And rightly so.” The corners of his eyes crinkled. “I’m the youngest of my brothers and I’ll can tell you with one hundred percent honesty, my oldest brother is the bossiest one of us. I think it comes with birth order. Although he takes his so called right uber-seriously. Especially at work.”

This time her grin was steadier.  “What kind of business do you all own together?”

“We a run a private security company.”

“Security?”

“Personal bodyguards, if a client needs protection from something. Background checks for employers. Mostly we do investigations.”

“What, like private eyes? Like on television?”

He laughed. “Nothing so glamorous. The fast cars and hot babes are all fantasy. It’s a lot of boring research, computer work, and surveillance, but yeah, you could say I’m a private eye.”

Lexi’s entire mood turned on his words. The sorrow flew, the hurt dissolved. Even her nervous trivia-speak went dormant. She sat bolt upright, her knees bumping against the tabletop when she shifted. Excitement shot from her system as she turned her body, placed a hand across his forearm and declared, “Oh, my God. You’re the answer to my prayers.”

Sounds like a great read, and the cover really sets the mood. No buy links yet, but you can find the first book in the series here.

cover reveal, Judith Sterling, Maraschino Marriage Pact, One Scoop or Two, paranormal romance, Tamela Miles, The Wild Rose Press

I’m excited to announce the new release of sister Rose (published by The Wild Rose Press) Tamela Miles. Isn’t this cover beautiful? Maraschino Marriage Pact is part of our publisher’s One Scoop or Two series, and it sounds like a great addition!  Here’s a little about the story:

Mikayla DiAngelis has spent the past two years traveling the world and avoiding the demands of her overbearing warlock father. A confusing kiss from her former bodyguard is yet another reason for her to stay two steps ahead on the run.

Warlock bodyguard Austin Luca will stop at nothing to bring Mikayla home. His loyalty belongs to her family, but his heart belongs to her, even though he has ties that bind him to his own family responsibilities.

Their encounter was inevitable, and Mikayla is soon caught up in Austin’s passion and the world she vowed to leave behind. Will surrendering to her former protector cost her the freedom she needs?

A peek between the pages:

“You know better than to use your magick in public, Mikayla. What if I was some ordinary human passerby?”

Mikayla froze midmotion. That deep, amused drawl had been with her since she was a child. She slowly turned around, scowling. “I knew I shouldn’t have come back here for the summer. Am I that obvious, Austin?”

The tall, leanly muscled man with straight dark hair and piercing chocolate-brown eyes shrugged, a small smile playing on his lips. “I lost track of you last year in Rome. Kudos for managing to give me the slip, considering I taught you every trick you know. I bet on your sentimentality about this place bringing you back.” He gestured at the skimpy black sundress she wore. “You’re looking well.”

She nodded. “Thank you. You haven’t changed. You never do. Why can’t every warlock age as gracefully as you do?” Sighing heavily, she placed her hands on her hips. “If you tell me again to come home, I’m hopping off this pier.”

His face shuttered. “I have news about your family, Mikayla. This time, it’s serious.”

Buy the book!

Bear With Me, cover reveal, debut novel, Judith Sterling, Kentucky, Marilyn Barr, paranormal romance, secular homeschooling, sensory processing disorder, The Wild Rose Press

Marilyn Barr is a new sister Rose (published by The Wild Rose Press), and today, she’s revealing the cover of her debut novel, Bear with Me.  Here’s the scoop on this paranormal romance:

Blue eyes, dimples, and silky brown hair; Grant Luther has all of Alison’s weaknesses.

When he asks for one last chance to save their marriage, she agrees to relocate their family to isolated Strawberry, Kentucky in pursuit of his career dreams. Grant views Alison’s sensory issues as limitations and protects her from outside threats. When he finds his new job includes changing him into a shifter in a war against the soul-sucking Sluagh he vows to keep the changes a secret. What he doesn’t know is Alison has been hiding a magical secret of her own. One that makes her a target of the Sluagh.

Will Alison emerge from Grant’s shadow to protect her family? And can Grant learn that being different can be a strength not a weakness?

Check out the trailer!

A note from Marilyn:

Bear with Me was originally a journal entry describing my family’s first full day after moving to Kentucky in 2015.  Main character Alison’s struggle to act normal with sensory processing disorder mirrors my own challenges.  Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) is a dysregulation of how the body perceives the world and its use of our seven senses.  Each person has a different combination of over-responsive and under-responsive senses.

Alison has the same combination as myself, where we are overly sensitive to smells, tastes, and hearing.  Social events that involve eating are a nightmare.  It is not that I am a picky eater, but that different food textures scrape along the inside of my mouth to varying degrees.  I will cook a large repertoire of foods but would only eat five different meals when I went to college.  I knew my husband was “the one” when he didn’t make fun of my eating in our college cafeteria.

While I have normal eyesight with contact lenses, Alison and I are under-sensitive to touch, proprioception, and vestibular senses.  This is where most of my social problems occurred growing up.  I cannot feel if my shoes are on the wrong feet, my clothes are on backward, a sign has been placed on my back, or a teen boyfriend was grabbing my behind.  Because of these issues, I decided to turn this aspect of SPD into Alison’s superpower.  The last two senses describe where our bodies feel they are in space.  Those of us who are under-responsive fidget, dance, and use grand hand gestures to verify the gravitational input most people receive naturally.  You can imagine the trouble I had sitting in a desk at school.

In addition to SPD, Alison and I homeschool our autistic sons; both boys have savant syndrome.  This portion of the autism spectrum is characterized in television shows like The Good Doctor and movies like Rain Man where the person has one outstanding area of expertise to the detriment of other skills.  In Bear with Me, Henrik is a musical savant with behavior troubles in public school.  He sings, composes, and plays the piano at a virtuoso level.  My real son is a linguistic savant.  He excels in the areas of grammar and syntax, not only in English but in many foreign languages as well.

I hope to show readers a growing section of the homeschool community in Bear with Me referred to as secular homeschoolers.  These families homeschool for reasons other than religion.  The children of rural Strawberry are an hour’s drive from the nearest school, so each parent teaches their area of expertise with all the children in the community as classmates.  In real-life Kentucky, we call these groups of families “cottage schools” or “parent-lead co-ops,” depending on whether parents exchange money.  In Strawberry, the parents exchange teaching classes but do not pay each other monetarily.  Green Witch Alison teaches math and science.  Pizzeria owner Rosie Paulino teaches language arts and Italian.  Also, her son Henrik takes online classes from a local university in his area of expertise (as my son takes foreign language classes from Outschool Professors in different countries).

cover reveal, Judith Sterling, One Scoop or Two, Peggy Jaeger, romance series, Root Brew Float, summer reading, Sydney Winward, The Wild Rose Press, Vanilla with a Twist

Here’s the cover for another sister Rose’s (published by The Wild Rose Press) upcoming release, Root Brew Float.  I love it!

Like Peggy Jaeger’s next book, Vanilla with a Twist, Root Brew Float is part of our publisher’s summer series, One Scoop or Two.  I don’t know about you, but these covers are making me hungry for ice cream.  And I’m partial to root beer floats!  Here’s the story:

Josephine Brevil has lived hundreds of years haunted by the horrors she experienced during the Salem Witch Trials. She takes great care to hide her powers, though serving a Root Brew Float laced with a magic potion now and again never hurt anybody. The Order sends her to Massachusetts to deal with a paranormal threat, and she meets the young and handsome widower, Clarence Watts. However, being with him comes with a choice. How can she choose between the man she loves and the magic she holds dear?

award winning author, cover reveal, Judith Sterling, One Scoop or Two, Peggy Jaeger, romance series, The Wild Rose Press, Vanilla with a Twist

Today, one of my sister Roses (published by The Wild Rose Press) is revealing the cover of her upcoming release, Vanilla with a Twist.  It’ll be part of our publisher’s summer series, One Scoop or Two.  Isn’t it cute?  Here’s the scoop (pun intended!):

Tandy Blakemore spends her days running her New England ice cream parlor, single-parenting her teenage son, and trying to keep her head above financial water. No easy feat when the shop’s machinery is aging and her son is thinking about college. Tandy hasn’t had a day off in a decade and wonders if she’ll ever be able to live a worry-free life.

Engineer Deacon Withers is on an enforced vacation in the tiny seaside town of Beacher’s Cove. Overworked, stressed, and lonely, he walks into Tandy’s shop for a midday ice cream cone and gets embroiled in helping her fix a broken piece of equipment.

Can the budding friendship that follows lead to something everlasting?

Sounds like a great summer read!  Visit Peggy’s blog here for more info.

cover reveal, Guardians of Erin, literary giveaway, signed paperback, The Cauldron Stirred, The Stone Awakened, The Sword Unsheathed, YA paranormal fantasy, YA series

I’m excited to reveal the cover for my upcoming young adult paranormal fantasy, The Sword Unsheathed!  What do you think?  The location on the cover is important to the continuing story because important scenes in this book and the next occur there.  Can you guess where it is?

I’m doing a giveaway on Facebook (open to US followers only).  Comment on the cover reveal post–telling me your guess of the location–and you could win a signed copy of either the first or second book (The Cauldron Stirred or The Stone Awakened) in the series.  Your choice!  The giveaway is open until 11:59 pm EST tomorrow (March 5).  Enter here and good luck!

In the meantime, here’s the scoop on The Sword Unsheathed:

Ashling Donoghue is no closer to finding her parents than she was the night they disappeared. But hope returns as her brother Kian channels the Sword of Light, revealing past-life secrets and truths long suppressed.

The more she learns, the greater she fears the darkness that drowns the Netherworld also drives her. Is Aengus her true love, or is it Lorcan? Does her future wait in shadow or the light?

One point is clear: the threads of her past-self are woven inextricably into the tapestry of her soul. An impossible choice looms before her, and all the while, evil is poised to strike.

I finished my read-through of the final galley yesterday and turned it in to my editor.  We should have a release date soon.

Wishing you a lovely Wednesday!  🙂

I can finally reveal the cover for the book I finished writing in January! A big thanks to cover artist Debbie Taylor.  Here’s the scoop on the story itself:

PhD student Ardyth Nightshade has renounced men and pursues her twentieth-century career with single-minded focus. When fate whisks her to medieval England, she meets her match in a man whose passions mirror her own. Can she sacrifice ambition for a love she never sought?

Hugh, Lord Seacrest confounds all who know him. He refuses to marry without a meeting of minds and hearts, and no lady has even approached his ideal…until Ardyth. But she’s an odd one, with unique skills, shocking habits, and total conviction she needs no man. She also harbors secrets, and in the midst of rumors, plots, and murder, trust is fragile.

A woman outside of her time. A man ahead of his. They must take a leap of faith to forge a bond that will shape history.

I should have a release date soon, and I’m currently writing the fifth and final book in the series, Return of the Raven.  Time travel features largely in that one, too.

Well, that’s all for now.  Wishing you a beautiful Thursday!  🙂
